So this morning I sat on the deck 37° just drinking my coffee running the live video feed and then I saw what I expected to whales  front of the house just going along feeding at Sunrise it was beautiful.

November is an amazing month Whales off of the coast of Monmouth and Ocean County we only need to do to our whale watching trips which I will start scheduling absolutely for next year and will try and get out one or two this year the whales are here let’s go see them

It’s mod November the wind is really whistling outside tonight whale watching season is over for us. The Return of Covid 19 to New Jersey right before the holidays has me saying We are done with group trips till spring.i have time to reflect on our best trip of the year and the best trip of our full 3 years running whale watching tours. 
here it is seeing the North Atlantic Right Whale. Yet the whales were easy to miss, low black hummocks among low black waves. Right whales don’t plunge forward, arcing and diving; they plug along the surface, back and forth in boustrophedon style, then vanish for long periods. Watching people watch for whales without the patience for their subtle presence, and with genuine disappointment that they weren’t more showy and exciting, made the shore feel like a dividing line between utterly different worlds.

I have video I need to edit from this trip I will do it this week. 

Sunday morning I was just reading the phone rang it was my friend Terry telling me there was a Whale in front of the house I look up and outside. I noticed that the whale was moving north at a slow speed so I gathered my camera equipment jumped in the car and went down to the fishing club pier where within one hour I saw for whales from the end of the pier. The Belmar Fishing Club is a private Members Only pier great place to go. Here are a couple photos from this morning.

Today was a special day and jerseyshorewhalewatchingtour want to we saw one of only 380 in the world North Atlantic Right Whale of the coast of Longbranch it was amazing it was fantastic something none of us of ever seen off the coast in New Jersey a healthy north Atlantic right whale what a beautiful site people were thrilled we had about 23 people on the boat.

I look forward to seeing everyone’s photos more information in the morning I got to go through all these photos. We have a few more trips this year, the weather was perfect,we were all thrilled.the ride back to the dock was adventurous lol. We all have a great memory. More photos to come later tonight. The blow hole is very powerful and distinctive 

The North Atlantic right whale can easily be identified by the white calluses on its head, which are very noticeable against the whale’s dark gray body. It has a broad back without a dorsal fin and a long arching mouth that begins above the eye. A baleen whale, it feeds by swimming through a swarm of plankton with its mouth open and the head slightly above the surface. Right whales are found more often in coastal waters, especially during the breeding season

 

The North-Atlantic right whale is one of the most endangered of all large whales, with a long history of human exploitation and no signs of recovery despite protection from whaling since the 1930s. It is now mostly found along the Atlantic coast of North America, where it is threatened by entanglement in fishing gear and ship collisions. Some scientists believe these whales have gone extinct in the eastern North Atlantic and now survive only along the east coast of the U.S. and Canada..
